What the piece shows
Ben Nevis starts from almost zero: Loch Linnhe is 6 km from the summit, at sea level. On the piece you follow the Càrn Mòr Dearg Arête, a curved blade that reaches the summit from the east, and the north face dropping 600 m onto Coire Leis. Glen Nevis cuts the south. The big buttresses of the north face are too narrow for 30 m resolution: the wall comes out as one continuous face.

Gifting
Gear can be replaced, a mountain cannot. The piece sits on a desk or hangs on the wall all year — adhesive pad, hook and magnet are in the box. Anyone who has been there recognises the ground they covered. For a trail runner, a skier, a climber, or for someone who simply grew up looking at this landscape: Scotland, Highlands (Lochaber, Western Grampians).
