What the piece shows
Across 14 km, the piece shows the contrast that makes this massif: to the south, the Tsanfleuron glacier spreads out almost flat over its limestone plateau; to the north, the wall drops in one go into the Creux de Champ valley, about 1,700 m below. The summit at 3,216 m and the Vaud shoulder at 3,210 m stand apart clearly. Scex Rouge, the Oldenhorn and the Col du Pillon all fit in the frame.
