What the piece shows
Two summits 1.5 km apart: the west one at 5,642 m, the east one at 5,621 m, with the saddle between them. The cone is broad and even, covered by an ice cap from which some twenty glaciers run down. To the south, the piece drops onto the Baksan valley, at around 2,000 m: more than 3,500 m of difference. The shape is gentle, and 30 m resolution renders it without loss.
