What the piece shows

Half Dome

Tight 10 km framing, centred on the dome. You recognise the clean cut of the north-west face, Tenaya Canyon running alongside it to the north, and Clouds Rest just behind, 300 m higher. To the south-west, the steps of Vernal and Nevada Falls drop towards the valley. Be warned: at 30 m resolution, a vertical wall becomes a very steep slope. The profile of the dome is right, the edge of the face is softened.
