What the piece shows
The 30 km framing holds all three volcanoes. In the centre, Kibo and its 2.5 km caldera, hollowed out by the Reusch Crater. To the east, the saddle at 4,400 m and then the jagged ridges of Mawenzi, 5,149 m. To the west, the Shira Plateau, almost flat. Below the cone, the Moshi plain at around 900 m: nearly 5,000 m of elevation range on the piece. The Mawenzi gorges are narrow, and the 30 m SRTM resolution softens them a little.
