What the piece shows
Mount Kenya is not a cone: it is the hardened core of a volcano taken apart by erosion. In the centre, Batian and Nelion, two teeth separated by the notch of the Gate of the Mists. Around them, the U-shaped valleys radiate out — Teleki, Mackinder, Gorges. The 15 km framing keeps that star pattern and the belt of moorland. The summit plug is very sharp: at 30 m resolution, its point is rounded off by a few metres.
