What the piece shows
Across 10 km, the piece takes in the summit pyramid, the Croslina valley with its small north-facing glacier, then Lago di Morghirolo at 2,264 m. To the north-east the ground tumbles down onto the Dalpe plateau, around 1,200 m: close to 1,900 m of height difference across the framed width. The ridges radiate out from the summit, separated by short, steep valleys — that is what keeps the piece readable even at 10 cm.
