What the piece shows
The highest peak lying entirely in canton Bern, and the northernmost 4,000er in the Alps. Across 8 km you get the pyramid, its stepped south-west ridge, and the line running on to the Lauteraarhorn (4,042 m), one kilometre away. Below, the basin of the Upper Grindelwald glacier drops in wide curves towards the Schreckhorn hut, 2,529 m. Around 2,000 m of height difference in the frame. Far less seen than the Eiger: that is what makes the piece stand out.

Gifting
Gear can be replaced, a mountain cannot. The piece sits on a desk or hangs on the wall all year — adhesive pad, hook and magnet are in the box. Anyone who has been there recognises the ground they covered. For a trail runner, a skier, a climber, or for someone who simply grew up looking at this landscape: Bernese Oberland (canton of Bern).
