The wall that closes off Grindelwald. Seven kilometres across, and the frame holds all three heads of the massif — Wetterhorn 3,690 m, Mittelhorn 3,704 m, Rosenhorn 3,689 m — above the valley floor at 1,034 m. That is 2,670 m of difference over five kilometres horizontally: the wall goes up almost in one block. The Grosse Scheidegg pass, 1,962 m, cuts a clean notch on the right.
